„Po drugim roku studiów wyjechałam na Work & Travel. Pracowałam w kurorcie na wschodnim wybrzeżu. Spędziłam wtedy w Stanach 4 miesiące i zakochałam się w tym kraju. Już wiedziałam, że wrócę tu na dłużej. Po powrocie zgłosiłam się do programu Au Pair. Po piątym semestrze wzięłam urlop dziekański. Od lutego mieszkam sobie w San Diego z moją host family. Opiekuję się dwójką dzieci (8 i 11 lat) oraz kotem.

Moja praca, to głównie jazda samochodem z dzieciakami. Wożę je do/ze szkoły, na różne zajęcia i imprezy towarzyskie (urodziny). Tak wiele się dzieje i czas tak szybko mija. Oczywiście dzieciaki czasami mają słabszy dzień i wtedy potrafią człowiekowi dać w kość. Czasem też zatęskni się za starymi znajomymi. Wtedy zwykle łapię za telefon i dzwonię za ocean :-). Kilka dni temu wróciłam z tygodniowego pobytu w Lake Tahoe, gdzie spędziłam część swoich wakacji. W lipcu moja host family urlopowała na Alasce. Poprosili mnie, żebym pojechała z nimi. Zgodziłam się. Najbliższy Sylwester spędzę na Hawajach z grupką moich nowych przyjaciół. Jest cool! Ten program, to najlepsza rzecz, jaką kiedykolwiek zrobiłam.”

„I loved my host family in Colorado! The children were great. I learned to ski and to ride a horse. I went to a rodeo with real cowboys! I visited old gold mines and ghost towns that were part of the Wild West. I will never forget my au pair year.”



„Hi, I’m Philippe and I am a male au pair in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My host family is a single mother with twin boys who I take care of. They are great kids. I always wanted to have siblings and now I have a chance to experience how it is like to be an older brother. I teach them Spanish and to play soccer and of course drive them where is necessary. When I am off, I usually go to the beach and salsa clubs with my friends or jump into my car and explore America. It is great to be here!”

When my son did a family tree assignment for his class, he drew a large tree with branches that included au pairs and their countries as part of his family.”
